A complete hotel interior clad in hand-formed gold scale panels — from elevator lobbies to ballroom corridors, spa reception and rooftop lounge. One continuous surface language across an entire property.
The client's brief was absolute coherence — every public space in the hotel to read as part of a single interior language. The scale pattern was selected for its ability to read differently at different distances: as texture up close, as a continuous shimmer from across a room.
Gold PVD was specified over paint or lacquer for its permanence and depth. The physical vapor deposition process bonds the titanium nitride directly to the steel surface, producing a finish that cannot chip, peel, or fade under the conditions of a high-traffic hospitality environment.
All panels were fabricated in sequence at MetaForm's Foshan facility, allowing the scale pattern to align continuously across room corners and elevator door surrounds — a level of precision only achievable through factory-controlled production.
